After the World
The Great Eye gazed down upon us from its light-speckled roost, bidding us to meet its mistress deep within the structure. It struck me, then, just what we had witnessed. The destruction of a wonderous and terrible world, and the birth of a new one, perhaps even more wonderous and terrible. The experience was confusing, but now that I see it for what it was, I am humbled to have been present.
What would I tell Nut, or Captain Russ, or Hans, or Janka, or Helmi? How could I explain this place to them, and what will never come again?
Maybe something like this:
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.
I’ve seen aquatic behemoths on fire off the edge of Vist’s blade.
I’ve seen emerald eyes glittering in the dark beyond the light of Sys’ lamp.
And now all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
“You’re an EYE!”
Oh, and now Hax is completely broken. Yeah, that happened.
